Sundogs, or parhelions, happen when the light refracts off of ice crystals in the air creating a halo. This rare phenomenon can happen on crisp, frigid days when the sun approaches the horizon.
It’s doubtful I’ll ever see a sundog, but I often find myself looking out my window and finding peace in the sky above me. While I don’t care for the inversions during the winter (which is caused by the natural geography of where I live) it does lead to some pretty fantastic sunsets. I often feel like the sky itself is the most beautiful canvas, always shifting from any moment of the day. We truly live in a beautiful world.

Your clarification of Sundog paints a very scenic and idilic picture. But I’ll hold on to my original interpretation, for the whimsy
