Hi everyone! After announcing I was leaving Webtoons last week, I had a huge surge of new subscribers here on my newsletter. I wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to everyone who joined up! Thanks to you, I’m currently #1 rising in Comics on Substack and I am now making 5X more a month than I was on Webtoons thanks to the amazing people who have signed up for premium. I may have shed tears I was so overwhelmed by the incredible support I have received since announcing my leave of Webtoons.
Thank you SO MUCH!!!
If you missed the update cause you’re not on Webtoons, you can read the announcement here:
I also wanted to let you know what’s going on and give a general update on stuff!
Temerity #3 Kickstarter launches June 2nd!
Help support the making of this comic by pledging to the campaign and getting the printed or digital copy of the comic! Issues 1 & 2 will also be available to purchase with extra bonus content in the books. It’s these campaigns that directly help me fund the project and allow me to keep paying the artists. So if you love the project, please consider pledging to the campaign when it goes live. You learn more about the campaign by clicking the link below:
The first chapter of Temerity is also available to watch as an animated comic. You can check it out here:
Email updates going to your promotions tab?
For those who are on Gmail and want my emails to show up in your primary inbox instead of promotions, you can actually click and drag one of my emails to your “primary” tab. Then Gmail will ask if you want future emails from me to appear in your primary inbox. This way you’ll be sure to see my updates in the future. ;)
Locked Vs Free Posts
I’ve had some new subscribers see the pay-locked posts on the website and worry that all my content will now be pay-to-read. This is not the case. Premium subscribers will get early access to comic posts and then they will eventually be unlocked for free subscribers. So if you can’t support me financially, worry not! All comics will eventually be available to read for free. (However some bonus auxiliary content will remain premium only.) Even if a post says it’s locked on the site, most have free content to view, so I recommend giving them a look. Most comic posts with a lock actually aren’t locked — they just have the downloadable PDFs available for premium subscribers at the very end.
Auxiliary Content
This website is still relatively new, so I’m still working on putting up bonus auxiliary content. You can (hopefully) expect to see new character bio posts, art concept pages, and illustration galleries popping up in the next month or so.
Project Updates
With summer coming up and my kids being out of school, it’s very hard to tell what I’ll manage to accomplish in the next few months. But here’s a quick overview of where each project stands and what to expect over the summer.
Temerity
Progress on Temerity is going well! I’m almost done wrapping up final color edits on chapter 4 and chapter 5 is well into production. The line artist is working on the first 15 pages and has started inking. I’ve also sent the first page off to the colorist. Overall, I’m pleased with the progress of the project so far and I should be able to consistently update this comic over the summer with 2-4 pages posting every-other-week.
Children of Eldair:
I’m currently working on Chapter 26 and making good progress. I’m currently working on building a buffer and doing pages in batches of 10. This means I do a single task for ten pages before moving on. Currently I have the next 10 pages penciled and they are currently being inked. I’ve also hired my good friend Gentle Dragon Art to help with the line-art, which should help me stay on top of updates throughout the summer. I’m hoping to have a new Eldair update ready in a couple of weeks and have a new page up every week after that.
Zelda’s Lullaby
As always, Zelda’s Lullaby always seems to end up on the bottom of my to-do list. *sigh* However, I am resolved to complete this project! Right now, the plan is to get a lot of pre-production work for ZL completed over the summer. I want to finalize the rest of the script and get all the storyboards drawn up. That way, as soon as the kids are back in school I can put my head down and marathon this project and get it DOOOONE. It’s a huge undertaking as I estimate there’s about 100 pages left to draw to complete the story. But I really REALLY want to complete it before the end of the year. So I may put other projects on pause in August so I can put all my focus on this until its done.
Thank you all so much for your support! I couldn’t do this without you. I am SO excited to make more art and share more of my stories with you. Have a great day!
And because it’s been so long since I updated Eldair, here’s a little preview of the next page.
Congratulations on a successful move! I'm so happy to hear it worked out for you. I'm still following you and Tapas as well as here. Hopefully, everything continues to look up!
