When Kian went through the elvan ceremony to get blessed, he was actually given air much to his disappointment. So he just pretended to be fire blessed since that came more naturally to him and then he didn't have to practice his magic. Instead he was just "naturally gifted" at using fire. Looks like that Air Blessing turned out to be handy for him though!
